Physical DevelopmentRealizing the process is more important than the finished product in early childhood education, we give children opportunities to develop their fine motor skills through creative art experiences, manipulative materials and exercises. Our large open indoor and outdoor play areas provide ample space for activities that develop large motor skills. Fine motor control and eye-hand coordination are enhanced through the use of paints, crayons, markers, pencils, scissors and glue. Plenty of tactile experiences are available for children through the use of manipulative aids such as play dough, rice, sand, lacing cards and beads, puzzles, blocks and other items found at our fine motor and science centers.
